When replying to an email with others CCed in it, do I address the sender only, e.g. Dear Sam, or address everyone, e.g. Dear all?
Context Explanation
Replying to an email with others CCed - The Workplace Stack Exchange “I wasn’t CCed on that e-mail” could mean “Bernd did not add me as the only person in the CC field in the first and only e-mail he sent to Wolfgang.” Yes, that is covered by "Verteiler", too. I old times the "Verteiler" was the list of people who received a physical carbon copy. Of coure this could be only one or two or more. Obviously, you don't want to hit Reply All on an all-staff email, but typically these sorts of emails won't have more than 2 or 3 people that have been CCed.
